Kippy Vita what a load of rubbish.
Bought a KV from videophone, the vita was bulky for a cat but as it was quite light my cat was ok with this. The collar metal loops at the back are more designed for a dog so the vita hung down off the poor cats neck, if there was an option to turn the loops around this would have sat on the neck ok. Vita worked for a couple of times but the battery didn’t last long. When switching the app on the tracker said my cats position was miles away when actually the device was sitting next to me. I took the Kippy back to vodaphone for an exchange. The next device was all powered up, put on my cat & the cat went off, the app could not locate the Kippy & said the battery was not charged but this was not the case. My cat came but with no tracker. The Kippy vita is a load of rubbish & did not work on both devices. Badly designed for cats, the app too was totally rubbish & the instructions came up each time o tried to use it although I took it off.
But do they work in practice? Reading the reviews you’d think they were all wonderful. We’ve just tried a Kippy Vita. Apart from needing 30mins in the Voda shop to set it up, alas it takes 20-30mins to establish contact between your phone and the device (often saying it’s maybe off, or low battery, or not on network – it was on, fully charged, in the shadow of two big mob aerials). Then it finally makes contact just as the doog walk is half over, says it now needs to get a GPS position – and the app crashes! Then it all starts again, finally working as we’re driving home, only to say it’s lost GPS position after 5 mins..
Useless – I can’t even really tell if this thing is on or off and it just doesn’t seem to work! Frustrating!!! I’d be very frustrated if I had actually lost my dog and I was relying on this thing to tell me where she was.
Constant problems trying to connect even with full battery and good gps signal and no reply from complaint email
My Patterdale refuses to wear a Kippy as he feels he is being treated like a criminal. And any mischief he has been getting up to,Hasnt been proven either way in a Court of Law.Its just like a Crim Tag.FREE THE DOGS!!!!!
